In this blog post, we'd like to introduce you to one of our favorite product lines that we not only carry in the salon, but also use in your in-salon services: Olaplex. For those unfamiliar, Olaplex is a bond-building system, that repairs dry, damaged, and processed hair. Different than a deep conditioner, Olaplex works by both repairing broken hair, and preventing further damage.
Olaplex is not only suitable for those who bleach their hair, but may also be helpful to those who heat style their hair or perm it. The active ingredient in Olaplex is bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate which works to repair those disulfide bonds in the hair that we mentioned above.
At it's core, Olaplex is a three part system, although, they've more recently introduced steps four through seven for additional hair help.
Step 1 - The Bond Multiplier: Usually added directly to your bleach at the salon, this step contains the most bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate.
Step 2 - The Bond Perfector: Also used at the salon, Step 2 contains a smaller amount of bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate as well as conditioning treatments.
Step 3 - The Hair Perfector: An at home treatment with the smallest amount of bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate and added conditioning treatments.
Step 4 - Bond Maintenance Shampoo: A conditioning shampoo that complements your in-salon and at-home treatments.
Step 5 - Bond Maintenance Conditioner: A nourishing conditioner that can be used on a daily basis.
Step 6 - The Bond Smoother: A post-wash hair smoothing treatment that works when you style your hair both with and without heat.
Step 7 - Bonding Oil: A finishing oil that can be applied during styling and throughout the week to refresh your hair.
The entire Olaplex at-home system can be purchased at our salon, while you can rest assured that the professional-steps are always used with our bleaching treatments. Not only do we want your hair to look beautiful, but also healthy and full of integrity. For all of your hair styling needs, give Brandy a call today!
