What are Hand-Tied Hair Extensions?

Hand Tied Hair Extensions

Hand-tied hair extensions have continued to grow in popularity as they have taken over Instagram and the internet. The best part is, we now are offering them! While the method of hand-tied extensions has been around for years, their increased popularity stems from the fact that they look natural, don't damage your hair and the hair lasts a long, long time.

Hand-tied hair extensions are available in a wide variety of colors, but they can also be custom colored to match your hair exactly - nobody will know you have them except you and your hairdresser. Hand-tied extensions are also made in a wide-range of lengths; you can use extensions to just add volume to your natural hair length, or on the opposite end of the spectrum, you can use them to create the mermaid hair of your dreams.

How Are Hand-Tied Extensions Installed?

Hand-tied extensions use wefts that have been hand-tied together. As opposed to machine-tied extension wefts, hand-tied aren't bulky and they lay flat against your scalp. This allows you to style your hair as you normally would - even pulling it into a ponytail - without having to worry about them showing.

To install the wefts, we add small beads to tiny sections of your hair. The beads are the same color as your hair, so they won't show at all. Once the beads are installed, we sew the wefts into the beads. This installation method is very similar to braiding a row of your natural hair and sewing the weft into the braid, however, the beads are less damaging.

The wefts are layered appropriately to give you the volume you're looking for, while blending naturally with your hair. After the wefts are added, your hair (both real and extensions) will be cut to blend them together. This gives your hair style a seamless look that will look natural in any situation.

And that's it! You can wash and style your hair as you normally would, but take extra care not to damage the extensions, or work too aggressively and pull on them. We recommend sleeping with your extensions in a loose braid or low bun to prevent them from tangling. Brandy will give you specific after-care instructions for your hair after your extensions are installed.
